Half Day Course – Meditations for relaxation
Saturday – Jul 4 | 10:00 – 13:00h (in-person or online)
Half-Day Course with Anne Viperman-Cohen and Edvin Nilsson
Breathing meditation helps to calm the mind, reduce stress, and give rise to an experience of inner peace and wellbeing.
In Introduction to Buddhism, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso says:
The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness; but if our mind is not peaceful, we will find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions. If we train in meditation, our mind will gradually become more and more peaceful, and we will experience a purer and purer form of happiness.
In this course you will be introduced to three simple guided meditations:
The first meditation is a basic breathing meditation that helps to disengage the mind from the busyness of everyday life and create a special feeling of inner peace.
The second meditation combines mindfulness of the breath with visualization, or creative imagination, and leads to a deep feeling of inner calm and purity.
The third meditation is a special breathing meditation that combines mindfulness of the breath with the recitation of mantra.
The half-day course is divided into several sessions. Every session consists of an explanation of the meditations and two guided meditations.
Please note: This course is taught in English (10:00 – 13:00h)
